چکیده

Following the trend of miniaturization in semiconductor industry, atmospheric plasma jets array configuration were developed for cleaning or treatment workpieces under homogeneous conditions. We describe here first, development a small five individual identical cells where each cell is ignited and quenched individually, which can be upscaled to several tens hundreds cells. The power electronics ignition composed multiplexing system with kHz high-voltage pulse an RF-supply that distributed maintain respective cell. Experimental results show voltage argon 1300 V RF-current per 70 mA.

Capacitively Coupled Atmospheric RF Microplasma Devices

We designed and fabricated planar, four-terminal, atmospheric, capacitively coupled (CC), helium RF micro plasma devices (MPDs). The operational characteristics of the MPDs are investigated. The microplasma field effect transistors (FETs) are fabricated and investigated, showing that the plasma current can be controlled by a gate bias. The stability of the MPDs is tested under harsh conditions ...

Nanosecond pulse plasma assisted ignition simulations at atmospheric pressure

Ignition assistance by a pulsed applied voltage is investigated in a canonical one-dimensional configuration. An incipient ignition kernel, formed by localized energy deposition into a lean mixture of methane and air at atmospheric pressure, is subjected to sub-breakdown electric fields by a DC potential applied across the domain, resulting in non-thermal behavior of the electron sub-fluid form...

A microfabricated atmospheric-pressure microplasma source operating in air

An atmospheric-pressure air microplasma is ignited and sustained in a 25μm wide discharge gap formed between two co-planar gold electrodes. These electrodes are the two ends of a microstrip transmission line that is microfabricated on an Al2O3 substrate in the shape of a split-ring resonator operating with a resonant frequency of 895 MHz. At resonance, the device creates a peak gap voltage of ∼...

Extraction of a low-current discharge from a microplasma for nanoscale patterning applications at atmospheric pressure

The authors present a scheme to extract a low-current discharge from a microplasma at atmospheric pressure for nanopatterning applications. The extracted discharge is generated by applying a high positive voltage to an independent electrode and accelerating electrons from the microplasma. Current-voltage (I–V) characteristics of the extracted discharge show high stability at low currents and tu...

Characterization of Atmospheric Pressure Microplasma Jet Source and its Application to Bacterial Inactivation

Atmospheric pressure microplasma jet sources driven by radio-frequency wave of 13.56MHz and by low frequency continuous wave of several kHz ac were fabricated and characterized. The source consists of an ac-driven copper wire (needle) surrounded by dielectric layer that are placed in a glass tube, and a ground plane electrode (pin-to-plane electrode configuration). The basic physical and chemic...
